TivraX
A personal AI audiobook studio.
Turn any PDF or EPUB into a natural, multilingual audiobook. Translate, narrate, look up meanings, and ask the book questions. All of it powered by AI that runs entirely on your device.
Designed for Apple Silicon. At home on every device Apple makes.

Any book.
Any language.
Yours forever.
Not a document reader. Not a TTS demo. TivraX is the listening side of the books you already own. Made for the way you actually read.
Any book
Drop in a PDF or EPUB. TivraX parses, cleans, and chunks it into audiobook-grade narration segments.
Any language
13 languages with natural neural narrators, Indic-first. Plus 200+ more through on-device translation.
Yours forever
Runs entirely on-device. No cloud. No subscription. No account. The book is yours; the listening is too.
Engineered around the frameworks Apple gives us for free.
Your library
Your shelf. Everywhere.
Drop a PDF or EPUB on any device. It shows up on all of them, cover art and all. Watch generation progress tick up in real time. Books from iPhone arrive on Mac with a quiet "From iPhone" tag, ready to render.

On iPad
Full cover art, generation badges, and a clean grid. Books rendered on Mac arrive here via your private iCloud container.

On iPhone
The same shelf in your pocket. Generation progress ticks on every cover. Tap and start listening.
How a book gets in
Drop in a book. Find any line.
Pick from Files, iCloud Drive, the share sheet, or any location your iPhone or iPad can reach. The moment a book lands, parsing and chunking start in the background and you can press Play within seconds. Full-text search then jumps you to any passage across the book in an instant.

Render once. Listen anywhere.
Built for every Apple device you own.
Generate audio once on your Mac with the highest-quality voices. Sync through your private iCloud container, the way Apple designed it. Listen anywhere. Your progress follows you.

Honest with your hardware
TivraX tells you what your device can do.
No silent fallbacks. No mysterious failures. Settings shows the exact capability of the device you're on, and lets you orchestrate the heavy lifting where it actually belongs.
Full capability
Mac-class on iPad.
On Apple Silicon Macs, M-series iPads, and 6 GB+ iPhones, TivraX runs the entire pipeline locally: neural narration, MLX on-device translation, and grounded AI Q&A. A single "Pause processing on this device" toggle lets your Mac do the rendering while your iPad just listens.

Honest fallback
Older iPhone? No problem.
TivraX detects 4 GB iPhones and clearly says so: translation falls back to Apple's built-in 19-language framework, and the heavy LLM work stays Mac-first in v1.0. Playback and read-along still work fully. Books sync from your Mac via iCloud, ready to listen.

The way good software talks to its user. Plainly.
The studio
A reader, a player,
and a producer.
The reading view on Mac shows the page and the sentence-by-sentence narration side by side. Watch the highlight chase the narrator. Click any line to jump. TivraX rewrites text for the ear: code blocks get politely skipped, lists become "first, second, finally," headings get topic-change cues. So it sounds like a real audiobook, not a robot. Page rendering and playback ride on Apple's own PDFKit and AVFoundation, so it feels native because it is.
- Sentence-level read-along with auto-scroll
- Chapter navigation from PDF outlines & EPUB nav docs
- Streaming-first. Listening starts within seconds of import.
- Speed 0.5x to 2x with pitch preservation
- Gapless playback, lockscreen, AirPods, and AirPlay 2 controls
- Smart handling of code, equations, arrays, dates, and URLs

Chapters parsed from your PDF outline or EPUB nav. One click jumps the player.
Confused? Just ask.
Highlight a word. Tap a paragraph. Spotlight-search your whole library. On Mac, every query is answered by an MLX model grounded in your books and run on Apple Silicon, so nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged.

Search your whole library. One prompt finds passages across every book you own, with chapter-level citations you can jump straight to.

On iPhone & iPad
Meaning, instantly.
Look up a word and get its meaning and multi-form translation, no dictionary server pinged. Full on-device LLM Q&A leads on Mac today and comes to iPhone and iPad in v1.1; in-book search already works everywhere.
Safe for work. The only AI book reader you can use with confidential material.
The model only sees the excerpts you give it. The worst it can say is "I don't see this in the book."
Indic-first
Made for the languages
a billion readers speak.
Most spoken-Hindi audiobooks today either sound like a foreigner reading Devanagari or skip Hindi entirely. TivraX ships with twenty-eight curated Indian-accent narrators across thirteen languages, female and male voices tuned to the prosody of each script, all running in-process through our ParlerMLX engine, our Apple-Silicon port of AI4Bharat's IndicParler-TTS.

The long tail
Reach for the rare ones too.
Beyond the neural and Apple voices, mBART-50 translates 52 more languages mainstream models miss, then routes to whichever voice Apple has installed.
Honest about the long tail
A small 4B translator can't do every low-resource language justice yet, so a handful are held back rather than shipped as garbage. They arrive in v1.1 with a permissively-licensed specialist translator (IndicTrans2 / NLLB).

Bring your own voice
Pick the engine.
Per book. Per language.
TivraX runs on-device by default. Free, private, always there. If you happen to have an ElevenLabs, Google Cloud TTS, or Azure Neural Speech account of your own, Settings lets you plug your key in for those voices too. TivraX never resells or proxies anyone's cloud. It simply respects the keys you already have.
Built in. Free. Private.
Your own cloud account, if you have one
On-device engines never touch the network. Cloud rendering sends chunk text to the provider's API, only when you ask it to, behind an explicit consent step, and only with the API key you provide. Apple's frameworks handle the secure storage of those keys in the Keychain.
And for translation
Four engines. 70+ narrated, 200+ translatable.
Apple Translation
System framework, on-device, ~19 language pairs.
MLX-Gemma 3 4B
Audiobook-grade prose register for the major languages.
mBART-50
52 long-tail languages, in-process MLX-Swift port.
MLX-Qwen3 4B
Technical normalization plus long-tail translation.
Read along
See the words.
Hear the page.
At its best on the iPad, the canvas Apple built for reading.

On your wrist
Leave the phone.
Take the book.
The phone renders. The watch caches. Step out for a run with just your watch and AirPods. The next few chapters travel with you over Apple's own WatchConnectivity, peer-to-peer, no servers involved. The Digital Crown adjusts volume. The sleep timer winds down. The book continues where you left off.

For everyone who reads
Built for every kind
of reader.
Reading is not one activity. TivraX was made with the people in mind for whom listening is the right way to read.
Audio-first readers
For readers with dyslexia, low vision, or anyone for whom listening is simply the better way to take in a book. Works with VoiceOver and Dynamic Type out of the box.
Language learners
Read in the original language, listen in your native one. Or the other way around. Every chunk re-narrated locally, no upload, no waiting on a server.
Technical readers
Engineering, science, and academic books that nobody narrates. Code blocks are skipped politely, equations are read correctly, your textbook becomes an audiobook.
Working professionals
Bankers, doctors, lawyers, consultants. Anyone whose books and documents cannot be uploaded to a cloud service. The on-device guarantee is the whole point.
VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion. The accessibility settings you already use, respected.
What stays on your device
stays on your device.
After install, TivraX never sends your book text or your audio to any network endpoint. Every transformation in the pipeline runs locally, wrapped in Apple's CryptoKit and Keychain. The same primitives Apple trusts for their own data.
Under the hood
Capable.
Quiet about it.
A streaming Swift pipeline runs the whole show. Parsing, translating, narrating, encrypting. Every model runs in-process via MLX-Swift and CoreML on Apple Silicon, the chip that finally made local AI of this calibre possible on a consumer machine.

Neural narration
Audiobook-grade voices on the Neural Engine and Metal. Kokoro for English, ParlerMLX for Indic.
ParlerMLX
Our in-process IndicParler-TTS port. 28 narrators across 13 languages on Apple Silicon.
On-device translation
MLX-Gemma 3 4B for prose register; Apple Translation for the major pairs.
Long-tail languages
mBART-50 reaches 52 more languages mainstream models miss.
Narration normalizer
MLX-Qwen3 4B rewrites code, math, tables, and URLs so they read like prose.
Apple CryptoKit
AES-256-GCM audio encryption, Keychain-backed, iCloud-synced keys.

Full AI Q&A on iPhone & iPad
The grounded, cited on-device LLM that leads on Mac today comes to iPhone and iPad, alongside cloud BYOK voices behind an explicit consent step and specialist translators for the low-resource long tail.
Same models. Same privacy promise. Same offline guarantee.

TivraX is submitted to the App Store and Mac App Store. Free, for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. Because that's where personal computing still feels personal.
